‘Outlander’ Season 3 Latest News & Spoilers: Premiere Begins With A Duel Not A Battle Wounded  Jamie; Cesar Domboy Is The Adult Romann Berrux

"Outlander" Season 3 opening scene will see Jamie Fraser (Sam Heughan) fight one on one with Jonathan Black Jack Randall (Tobias Menzies). Showrunner Ronald D. Moore revealed that the scene is different from how Diana Gabaldon's Voyager started but he promised that they are "playing it out more." Additionally, a new actor has just confirmed to join the "Outlander" series cast members to play the adult Romann Berrux.

"Outlander" Season 3 is based on Voyager, the third installment of Gabaldon's book series. However, Moore is reportedly twisting the opening scene of the show with a duel between Jamie and Jack Randall contrary to the book's which opened with a wounded Jamie who could not recall what happened in the battle and a dead Jack Randall.

In an interview with Moore, he was asked about the battle teased at the finale of "Outlander" Season 2 to which he commented, "It just felt like for the TV show, we've been promising this for a while and it just felt like we should have something," Entertainment Weekly reported. "We should give the audience some sense of what happened on that moor," Moore added.

It seems that "Outlander" Season 3 fans are up for more surprises as apart from the change in the season premiere, another new cast is set to appear in the upcoming series. "The Walk's" Cesar Domboy will be entering into the "Outlander" era to give life to the role of the adult Romann. To recall, Romann is the unofficially adopted child of Jamie and Claire (Caitriona Balfe) whose character was initially revealed as a young kid in the previous season of the show, Hypable reported.

Other actors who have been reported to join "Outlander" Season 3 cast member are John Bell and Will Johnson who will portray the characters of young Ian Murray and Joe Abernathy, respectively. David Berry is also set to play Lord John Grey's character, a prison governor expected to form friendship with Jamie.

"Outlander" Season 3 is slated to premiere in 2017. Starz has not confirmed an official release date yet. See the first look at "Outlander" Season 3 below.
